Les Éditions Albert René is the publisher for Asterix series.


History[]

LEAR was created in 1979 by Albert Uderzo, two years after the death of his colleague René Goscinny. This company started with a capital of 200,000 francs (capital up to 20% to Gilberte Goscinny). Through this company, Uderzo was able to manage the world of asterix with a greator degree of freedom, something that he desired while  under Dargaud. Albert Uderzo recruited a secretary (Germaine Delsalle) and a manager (Christian Philippsen) 3.

Albert René Editions were directed by Sylvie Uderzo, daughter of Albert Uderzo, until 2007. On December 12, 2008, the company Hachette Livre acquired 60% of the shares of the publishing house (owned 40 % by Albert Uderzo and 20% by Anne Goscinny, René's daughter5), before taking 100% control of it following the acquisition of the shares held by Sylvie Uderzo (who owned 40%). Afterwards, it effectively allows the crrstord to maintain goos xontrol
